I was born and raised in North Carolina and have lived in the Southeast all my life, so I am definitely a southerner!  My degree is in Physical Therapy, but I have always been interested in nutrition.  Looking back, I can see that from high school onward I struggled with digestive issues, but in 2000 I began to experience more and more severe symptoms of fatigue, stomach pain and irritability. In 20011 I was "sick and tired of being sick and tired", and I sought out the help of a nutritionist. I eliminated gluten from my diet, saw dramatic improvement in my energy, mood and health, and decided I wanted to know more about how I could maintain and improve my health naturally.

Because my health improved, I sought out programs that taught from the functional perspective, and I learned that today our bodies are over-burdened from toxins, infections, stress, diet and electromagnetic fields, all which can lead to chronic disease. To let the body heal, we peel back the layers of dysfunction one at a time so that it has the support it needs to remove the impediments to health.

My education provides me many approaches to take and lenses to look through to achieve the best possible results when working with clients, and I am always learning.  My main focus is on gut health.  A healthy gut leads to a healthy body.  If your gut is healthy, your body receives the nutrients it needs to heal, and this change alone may resolve other issues, even chronic ones.  Some symptoms may persist however, and then we dig deeper into the next layer of healing, maybe hormonal imblances or sleep struggles, but gut health is almost always addressed first, because a healthy gut is the foundational and most critical piece of being well.

I can’t think of anything  I would rather do than help people return to rebalanced, rejuvenated and revitalized lives.
